About This Product
This MCS oil pump drive gear shaft replaces OEM 26488-91 on 1991 to 1997 Sportster models. It fits the early five-speed Evolution motors. Inspect the drive gear and shaft closely whenever you service the oiling system. Wear or damage here will drop oil pressure and wreck the motor. This shaft drives the oil pump and circulates lubricant through the engine. Replace it at major service or pump rebuild if you see scoring or ovality.
