About This Product
This All Balls starter motor is a significant upgrade over the original Prestolite or Hitachi units found on vintage Big Twin, FXR, and Sportster models. Delivering a powerful 1.4 kW of cranking force, this motor features a CNC-machined billet aluminum drive side that fits snugly into the primary housing. This precision fit is so secure that it eliminates the need for the flimsy support brackets used on the original equipment. It is a direct replacement for OEM 31570-73. When replacing your old unit, keep in mind that Hitachi and Prestolite styles are not interchangeable due to different housing lengths and bolt patterns, so verify your original specs before installation.
