About This Product
Samwel shifter fork shaft for 1941-1973 45-inch Sidevalve models. It replaces OEM 31140-41. The shifter forks slide on this shaft inside the transmission. If the shaft is grooved or worn the forks bind and the box becomes stiff. Fit this when you rebuild the gearbox to keep the internal geometry right. Check the fork bushings and the detent plunger while you are in there.
