About This Product
S&S 551 Easy Start gear drive camshaft kit. This is a complete kit with inner and outer drive gears, bearings, and gaskets. It fits 1999 to 2006 Twin Cam models except the 2006 Dyna. S&S built this for stock 96-inch Touring bikes. Strongest pull is from idle to 4000 RPM. The Easy Start lobe lifts the exhaust valve to bleed cranking pressure. You will not need a heavy-duty starter or oversized battery. Do not use these with 10:1 or higher compression. Early Twin Cams will need high-lift valve springs and clearancing during installation.
