This shifter gear retaining spring from Samwel is a crucial small part for the internal shifting mechanism of a vintage Harley-Davidson transmission. It provides the necessary tension to keep the shifter gear in its proper position, ensuring crisp and reliable gear changes every time you click through the box. This spring fits 1937 to 1973 45" Flathead models and is a direct replacement for OEM 33964-38 and 2242-38A.
