About This Product
Andrews' C-ratio fourth gear set is designed for 1971–early 1979 XL Sportster four-speed transmissions. The set includes an 18-tooth fourth-gear mainshaft and 26-tooth fourth-gear countershaft, replacing the stock 27/17-tooth ratio found on these model years. This change raises RPM in top gear for closer ratio shifting between third and fourth. All gears are manufactured in the USA from high-alloy nickel steel, ground to precise dimensions, heat-treated and shot-peened for proven strength and long service life. A straightforward upgrade that makes the most of your Ironhead Sportster's power band.
