The S&S 450S camshaft is a classic choice for riders looking to boost the low and midrange torque of their vintage Big Twin. This cam provides .475 inches of valve lift for Panheads and .453 inches for Shovelheads, making it an excellent bolt-in option for engines up to 88 inches with compression ratios up to 8.5:1. It is designed primarily for use with hydraulic lifters, though it can be used with solid lifters if preferred. This cam fits 1948 to 1965 Panhead and 1966 to 1969 early Shovelhead models. If you are looking for a cam that provides a noticeable increase in pulling power without sacrificing rideability or requiring extensive head work, the 450S is a proven performer for the street.
