About This Product
This 17-tooth clutch gear serves as the fourth gear on the transmission mainshaft for 1956-1966 KH, XL Sportster, XLH, and XLCH models, as well as 1967-1969 XLCH variants. It fits models with engine numbers 56KH-1465 and higher, replacing OEM part 37449-56. The clutch gear transfers power from the transmission to the clutch assembly and must be in good condition for proper engagement and smooth shifting. Manufactured to match the original gear specifications, it provides correct tooth profile and hardness for reliable service. A critical component during any four-speed Sportster transmission rebuild where gear wear has been identified.
