About This Product
MCS primary chain adjuster lining retainer. Replaces OEM 39979-58A. Fits late 1958 to early 1980 XL Sportster. This retainer holds the tensioner lining in place inside the primary cover. Old retainers go brittle and let the lining shift. That causes chain rattle or worse. Fit a new one whenever you open the primary. Inspect the lining for wear while you are in there. It is cheap insurance against primary damage.
Manufacturer part number: 515415.
