About This Product
MCS primary chain adjuster lining. Replaces OEM 39978-58. Fits late 1958 to early 1980 XL Sportster models. The lining gives the primary chain a smooth surface to ride on. It stops metal-on-metal contact and cuts noise inside the primary case. The chain will wear a groove into this part over time. That causes improper tension and possible damage. Replace it during your regular primary service.
