This BDL bolt-in belt drive kit is a high-performance upgrade for 1989 Softail models equipped with the late-style starter. Designed with a 68-45 drive ratio, this 8mm kit is engineered to fit inside your original primary housing with minimal modification required. It is an ideal solution for rear belt drive setups but is equally capable on bikes running a rear chain. The kit comes complete with BDL’s E.T.C. ball bearing lock-up clutch assembly, featuring durable Aramid plates for superior grip and a sealed primary bearing for longevity. This setup provides a much more positive clutch feel and eliminates the mess of a traditional oil-bath primary. If you ever need a replacement belt, this system uses a 138-tooth, 41mm wide 8mm belt to keep your Softail cruising smoothly.
