This KB Performance big bore piston kit is the go-to choice for converting an 883 Sportster into a 1200. Sold as a set, these standard-size pistons are compatible with stock, unmodified cylinder heads and provide a 10:1 compression ratio. They are manufactured from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic aluminum with a 16% silicone content, allowing for very tight clearances which results in a quiet engine and long-term durability. The kit fits 1986 to 2022 XL883 models. Note that for 2004 and later models, you must purchase 1200cc cylinders as the stock 883 liners are too thin to bore out. The top compression ring will require additional clearance, so be sure to follow the included instructions carefully during assembly.
