This KB Performance high-compression pop-up piston kit is designed for 1979 to 1984 1340cc Shovelhead models. Sold as a set, these pistons are oversized by .010 inches and feature a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Manufactured from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic cast aluminum with a 16% silicone content, they allow for exceptionally tight clearances, ensuring long-term durability and minimal piston slap. When installing, keep in mind that the top compression ring requires additional clearance per the included instructions. Also, be aware that roughly 30% of stock Shovelhead cylinders may require the oil return holes to be relocated lower to accommodate the wider piston ring pack and prevent oil consumption issues.
