Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve efficiency, and provide information to the site owners. Similar technologies include sessionStorage and localStorage, which store data in your browser for the duration of a session or longer.
Cookies We Use
Iron Stable uses strictly necessary cookies that are essential for the site to function, and analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies are only set after you give consent via our cookie banner.
Authentication Cookies
Our authentication provider (Supabase) sets cookies to manage your login session. These are essential for the Platform to recognise you as a logged-in user and to keep your session secure.
- Supabase auth token — stores your encrypted authentication session. Required for login functionality. Expires when you sign out or after the session timeout.
- Supabase refresh token — used to refresh your session without requiring you to sign in again. Persistent until logout.
Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors browse the site. These cookies are only set after you click "I'm cool with that" on our cookie banner.
- _ga — distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
- _gid — distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 24 hours.
Consent Cookie
- cookie_consent — records whether you have accepted or rejected analytics cookies. Expires after 1 year.
Session Storage
We use browser sessionStorage (not cookies, but a similar technology) for minor application state such as tracking whether the app launch animation has been shown during your current session. This data is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.
Cookie Consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies — such as those required for authentication — are exempt from the requirement to obtain consent. We do not need your permission to set these.
However, analytics cookies (used by Google Analytics 4) are not strictly necessary and require your consent. When you first visit the site, we show a cookie banner asking whether you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics will only load if you choose to accept. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.
Third-Party Cookies
When you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC) sets cookies on your device to collect anonymised browsing data such as pages visited, time on site, and device information. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies during the checkout process for fraud prevention and to remember your payment preferences. These are strictly necessary for processing payments and do not require separate consent.
We do not set any advertising or tracking cookies from other third parties.
How to Control Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing cookies. Please note that if you disable authentication cookies, you will not be able to sign in to the Platform.
