About This Product
This JIMS pinion shaft is designed for 1954 to 1957 Big Twin models and requires key 23985-12 for installation. A JIMS 24023-36 nut is used on the flywheel side and a 24023-54 nut on the pinion gear side. The shaft comes with an oil end plug and features side oiling. It replaces OEM reference 24006-54A. Note that 1958 to 1981 Big Twin pinion shaft assemblies can also be adapted to fit 1954 to 1957 engines with appropriate case modifications to accept the larger press-in bearing race.
