JIMS red pinion gear. This is an average-sized option. It fits late 1977 to 1989 Big Twin engines. It replaces OEM number 24043-78. Machined from American aerospace tool steel. Correct pinion-to-cam gear fitment keeps the valve train quiet. This gear eliminates the whining or clicking that comes from poor tolerances. Check your lash spec before fitting. Wrong size wears the gears and annoys you at the lights.
