When you are pushing a Sportster engine hard, the stock plastic tappet guides can become a weak point, potentially allowing the tappets to twist under high RPM stress. These S&S tappet cuffs are a vital upgrade for 2006 to 2022 XL Sportster models. Sold as a set of two, they are CNC-machined from billet aluminum and finished with a black hard-anodized coating. They provide superior strength and perfect alignment for your tappets without hindering their vertical movement. This is an easy and highly recommended performance upgrade whenever you are performing a cam change or replacing tappets. Always remember to check the clearance between the tappets and the cuffs, as dimensions can vary between different aftermarket manufacturers.
