This Manley valve seat spring cutter is a specialized tool for the serious engine builder working on 1948 to 1984 Panhead and Shovelhead motors. It comes equipped with a 3/8-inch pilot and is designed to lower the valve spring collar in high-lift applications. This is necessary when you are running cams that provide up to .600-inch of valve lift and find that spring travel is insufficient or seat pressure is too high. It provides the precision needed to ensure your valvetrain has the clearance it needs to survive high-performance use. If you are running thin stem valves, please note that a separate 5/16-inch pilot will be required for proper alignment.
