About This Product
This is an MCS starter motor armature in Prestolite style. It replaces OEM 31542-66T. It fits 1967 to 1980 XL Sportster, 1966 to 1982 FL, 1980 to 1983 FLT, and early 1983 FXR. The armature matches original Prestolite specifications. Check your field coil and brush length while the motor is apart. A dragging armature often points to worn bushes or a cracked drive end cap. Do not overtighten the through bolts or you will distort the housing.
Manufacturer part number: 519240.
