When you are dealing with a high-compression build, the stock 1.4kW starter often struggles to get the motor over. This JIMS 1.8kW high-torque starter in wrinkle black is a serious upgrade for 1989 to 1993 Big Twin models. These units are manufactured in the USA and Canada to handle the extra demand of performance engines. Keep in mind that for Softail, Dyna, and FXR models, you will need to relocate the oil lines and wiring to clear the larger body. If you are running a 1990 to 1993 Touring model, you will also need the JIMS oil filler spout spacer, part number 961335. To get the most out of this unit, ensure your battery has the cold cranking amps to support the increased 1.8kW draw.
