The tank accepts a pre-1983 bayonet-style vented gas cap and a pre-1975 3/8 NPT petcock. With a length of 16-1/2 inches and a width of 12 inches, it offers that classic Mustang silhouette. It is important to pressure test, seal, and test-fit this tank before painting, as the factory coating is only intended for rust prevention during storage. This tank is a solid foundation for any vintage Sportster project.
