About This Product
This MCS brush set contains four replacement brushes for OEM-style Hitachi starter motors. It fits 1989 to 1990 Big Twins and 1986 to 1990 XL Sportsters, replacing OEM 31596-85. If your late-eighties machine is struggling to turn over, worn brushes are often the culprit. Check the commutator and the springs while you are in there. Weak contact here will cause slow cranking. Sold as a set.
