About This Product
MCS starter shaft gear. It fits 1967 through 1980 Sportster models. Replaces OEM 31429-67. The teeth on the original gear chip and round off after years of use. That causes poor engagement and can damage the rest of the starter. Fit this replacement during an Ironhead starter overhaul to restore proper mesh with the primary drive. Check the mesh pattern before you button it up.
