About This Product
This mainshaft 5th gear retaining ring is a critical fastener for the internal transmission assembly on modern Sportsters. It is designed to fit 2006 to 2022 XL Sportster models as well as 2008 to 2012 XR1200 bikes. These rings are essential for keeping the 5th gear properly positioned on the mainshaft, preventing unwanted lateral movement that could lead to transmission failure. This part is a direct replacement for OEM 10984. Because these clips can lose their tension or become damaged during removal, it is always best practice to install a fresh one whenever the transmission is serviced. These are sold in a pack of 10, ensuring you have plenty on hand for the workshop. Reference MCS part number 905274.
