This 3-piece outer rear camshaft roller bearing is an OEM-style replacement for the 8983 bearing. It was introduced by the factory in 2001 to replace the earlier ball bearing design, specifically for the rear, drive-side camshaft which carries a heavier load. This heavy-duty roller design provides increased durability and is a direct fit for 1999 to 2006 Twin Cam models, excluding the 2006 Dyna. Whether you are performing a standard service or a performance cam upgrade, using this reinforced roller bearing in the rear position is a smart move for long-term reliability.
