About This Product
MCS sliding cam for the compensating sprocket assembly. Fits 1957 to early 1976 XL Sportster. Replaces OEM 40297-57. It sits in the compensator stack and takes up engine pulses. A worn cam causes excessive primary noise and vibration. Check the service limits during a primary job. Replacing just this cam saves buying the entire assembly. The early ironhead primary relies on this part to protect the transmission.
Manufacturer part number: 927646.
