About This Product
MCS compensating sprocket spring. Replaces OEM 40302-55A. Fits 1955 to early 1970 Big Twins and 1957 to early 1976 XL Sportsters. Old springs lose tension and the primary gets noisy. Fitting a fresh spring restores the dampening effect and smooths out power delivery. It absorbs V-twin pulses and extends drivetrain life. Check the thrust washer while you are in there.
