About This Product
This JIMS line reamer is a precision instrument designed for critical engine tolerances. It is used to line ream the pinion shaft bushing within the cam cover on 1954 to 1999 Big Twin models, excluding Twin Cam engines. Additionally, it is the correct tool for reaming the idler gear bushing on 1957 to early 1984 XL Sportster models. By reaming these bushings in place, you ensure that the shafts rotate freely with the correct oil clearance, preventing binding and premature wear. This is an essential tool for any mechanic performing a comprehensive overhaul of the cam chest on vintage or Evolution-era Harleys.
