About This Product
MCS starter shaft for early belt-drive Big Twins. It replaces OEM 31310-80A and fits 1982 FL Classic, 1982 to 1984 FLH models, 1980 to 1986 FXB and FXSB models, and 1984 to 1986 FXWG Wide Glides. This shaft drives the starter engagement on Shovelhead and early Evolution motors. If the starter grinds or labours, pull the primary and inspect the shaft for wear or twisted splines. Fit a new one and check the starter drive gear at the same time.
