This MCS starter shaft housing supports and aligns the starter drive gear on early 80s Big Twins. It replaces OEM part number 31387-80. It fits 1980 to 1986 belt drive models including the 1982 Classic, 1983 to 1984 FLH, and 1980 to 1986 FXB, FXSB and FXWG Wide Glide. Grinding or poor starter engagement usually means the housing is cracked or the bore is worn.
