This shifter shaft seal from Cometic is a dual-purpose component for mid-seventies to mid-eighties FX models. It is used both in the inner primary and the inspection cover to keep oil contained and the shifting action smooth. This seal fits 1974 to 1985 FX models, excluding the FXWG and FXST, and replaces OEM 60641-74. A leaking shifter seal is a common nuisance on these vintage machines, often leading to oil spots on the garage floor. This high-quality Cometic replacement is the best way to fix it.
