About This Product
This KB Performance piston kit is designed for 1340cc Shovelhead engines, providing a standard replacement with an 8.0:1 compression ratio. Sold as a set, these pistons are made from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic cast aluminum with 16% silicone, allowing for tight clearances and quiet operation. This kit fits 1979 to 1984 Harley-Davidson 1340cc Shovelhead models. Note that the top compression ring requires additional clearance. Additionally, because these pistons use a wider ring pack for better stability, about 30% of stock cylinders may require the oil return holes to be relocated lower to prevent excessive oil consumption. It is a high-quality choice for maintaining the longevity of your late-model Shovelhead.
