About This Product
This KB Performance 1200 XL piston kit is engineered for Sportster owners looking to run stock or high-lift camshafts. Sold as a set in a +.020" oversize, these pistons feature deeper valve pockets and a lowered top ring specifically to handle higher lift cams without clearance issues. They maintain a stock 9.0:1 compression ratio and are cast from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic aluminum. The 16% silicone content is key, as it allows for tighter piston-to-wall clearances and much quieter operation. These fit 1988 to 2022 XL1200 models. Be sure to provide the required additional clearance for the top compression ring as specified in the instructions to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
