About This Product
This KB Performance forged piston kit is a high-quality choice for 1979 to 1984 1340cc Shovelhead engines requiring a +.005 inch oversize bore. These pistons deliver a 9.0:1 compression ratio with a 112cc head, offering a great balance of performance and reliability. Constructed from 4032 high-silicon alloy, these forged pistons are designed to flex rather than crack under extreme conditions. The kit is sold as a set and comes complete with offset wrist pins, retaining rings, and piston rings. As with all KB forged pistons, these feature offset pins to improve engine geometry, so correct orientation during installation is vital. We recommend setting the piston-to-wall clearance about .001 inch wider than a standard cast piston to account for the thermal expansion of the forged material.
