Designed for the rubber-mounted Sportster generation, this clutch shell with ring gear fits 2004 to present XL models. It is a high-quality replacement for OEM 36790-04, providing a fresh surface for your clutch plates and a crisp ring gear for reliable starter motor engagement. Over time, the "fingers" of the clutch shell can become notched, leading to a jerky clutch feel and difficult neutral finding; replacing the shell restores that smooth, factory-new operation. This Genuine Zodiac part is built to withstand the demands of daily riding. Note that while this fits standard Sportster models, extra-plate clutch kits are not compatible with XR 1200 models. It is an essential component for any major primary-side overhaul on modern Sportsters.
