This small shifter shaft bushing is a critical internal part for the transmission assembly on 1937-1973 45" Flathead models. It is a direct replacement for OEM numbers 2242-38B and 34427-38. When rebuilding a vintage gearbox, replacing both the large and small bushings is highly recommended to ensure the shifter shaft is perfectly supported. This Samwel-produced bushing is manufactured to original specifications, providing the durability and fitment required for long-lasting performance. By eliminating play in the shifter shaft, this bushing helps maintain smooth gear transitions and prevents premature wear on other internal transmission components of your classic side-valve Harley.
