JIMS cam and pinion gear gauge pins measure .105 inch diameter. You use them to check the pitch diameter of cam and pinion gears on 1954 to 1989 Big Twin models. Slide them in to check the gear mesh against your OEM manual sizing chart. Too loose and the gears click. Too tight and they whine, which wears the gear teeth and bearings prematurely. Get the mesh right and the valve train stays quiet.
