About This Product
This JIMS sprocket shaft is precision machined in Camarillo, California from specially ordered steel and is designed to fit 1977 to early 1981 XL Sportster models. The shaft features a keyway and requires key 23985-12 for correct installation. A nut should be used on the flywheel side. After heat treatment, all threads undergo a specialised process to withstand greater torque stress. Ground diameters are concentric to within 0.0003 inches, ensuring a 16-micron or better surface finish that makes truing and rebuilding faster and more accurate.
