About This Product
JIMS sprocket shaft for 1977 to early 1981 XL Sportster models. It is precision machined in Camarillo, California from specially ordered steel. The shaft has a keyway. It requires key 23985-12. Use a nut on the flywheel side. After heat treatment the threads undergo a specialised process to withstand greater torque stress. Ground diameters are concentric to within 0.0003 inches with a 16-micron or better surface finish. That makes truing and rebuilding faster and more accurate.
Manufacturer part number: 24000-75.
