About This Product
MCS primary chain tensioner kit replaces OEM 540021. It fits 1985 to 2000 5-speed Big Twins and retrofits to 1965 to 1984 4-speed and 5-speed Big Twins. The kit converts the primary to manual chain adjustment. You set the slack yourself instead of relying on an automatic shoe. This avoids the over-tightening that wears primary parts. Sold as a kit.
