This KB Performance piston kit is a great solution for rebuilding classic Big Twin engines. Sold as a set in a +.005" oversize, these pistons are designed to work with stock cylinders and heads, providing a reliable 8.5:1 compression ratio. They are manufactured from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic cast aluminum with a 16% silicone content, which allows for tight clearances and significantly reduces piston slap or noise. This kit fits 1941 to 1978 Harley-Davidson 74 cubic inch (1200cc) Knucklehead, Panhead, and Shovelhead models. As with most high-performance hypereutectic pistons, the top compression ring will need additional clearance during installation.
