About This Product
This KB Performance piston kit is a premium choice for 1340cc Shovelhead rebuilds. Sold as a set in a +.010" oversize, these pistons maintain an 8.0:1 compression ratio. They are manufactured from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic cast aluminum with 16% silicone, enabling tight clearances and reducing engine noise. This kit fits 1979 to 1984 Harley-Davidson 1340cc Shovelhead models. During installation, ensure the top compression ring has the required additional clearance. Note that in roughly 30% of stock cylinders, the oil return holes may need to be relocated lower to accommodate the wider ring pack and prevent oil consumption. This kit provides the stability and durability needed for a high-quality top-end overhaul.
