Engineered for 1979 to 1984 1340cc Shovelhead engines, this KB Performance pop-up piston kit provides a significant performance boost. Sold as a set and oversized by .040 inches, these pistons deliver a 9.5:1 compression ratio. The T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic alloy features 16% silicone, allowing for the tight clearances necessary for a quiet and long-lasting top end. Builders should note that the top compression ring needs additional clearance during installation. Additionally, because these pistons use a wider ring pack for better stability, some stock cylinders may require the oil return holes to be relocated lower to avoid excessive oil consumption. Always verify cylinder compatibility before final assembly.
