About This Product
This KB Performance forged piston kit is the ideal solution for 1979 to 1984 1340cc Shovelhead engines that need a +.020 inch overbore. These pistons offer a 9.0:1 compression ratio with a 112cc head and are fully machined from high-strength 4032 forged aluminum alloy. This material choice allows the piston to flex under high cylinder pressures, providing excellent resistance to cracking. The kit is sold as a set and includes offset wrist pins, retaining rings, and piston rings. Due to the offset pin design, it is necessary to install the pistons in the correct front and rear positions as specified in the instructions. Additionally, forged pistons require about .001 inch wider wall clearance than cast pistons to accommodate thermal expansion during operation.
