If you are looking to wake up an Ironhead, this Wiseco high-compression piston kit is the perfect choice. Designed specifically for 1972 to 1985 XL1000 Sportster models, these standard bore pistons increase the compression ratio to 10:1 from the original 9:1 factory specification. These are forged pistons, built to withstand the increased heat and pressure of a performance-oriented build. Please note that these are intended for use with stock Sportster cylinder heads and will not fit XR-style heads. This kit comes complete with everything needed for the installation, including the forged pistons, wrist pins, Hastings rings, and circlips. It is a proven way to improve throttle response and overall power in a classic 1000cc Ironhead motor.
