It is designed for the installation of round wire type piston wristpin retaining rings, replacing OEM 22589-83A. This tool covers a broad range of fitments, including 1984 to 1999 Big Twins (excluding Twin Cams), 1986 to 2022 XL Sportsters, 2008 to 2012 XR1200 models, and 1987 to 2010 Buells. Trying to seat these wire rings with pliers often leads to them flying across the shop or getting bent. This tool seats them perfectly every time, ensuring your piston assembly is secure and ready for the cylinders.
