This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket set is the professional choice for sealing a 1948 to 1965 Panhead engine. Designed as a standard bore replacement, these .040 inch thick gaskets consist of three layers, including top and bottom layers of stainless spring steel coated in high-temperature rubber. This advanced construction provides a superior seal compared to traditional materials and effectively eliminates the need for dowel pin o-rings. The layers are riveted together outside the gasket surface to simplify the assembly process. Whether you are doing a routine top-end refresh or a full restoration, these gaskets provide the durability required for vintage Panheads. This set is sold as a pair.
