For Shovelhead owners looking for a performance boost, this KB Performance pop-up piston kit delivers a high 9.5:1 compression ratio. Sold as a set in standard size, these pistons are constructed from T6 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic cast aluminum with 16% silicone for superior strength and quiet running. This kit fits 1979 to 1984 Harley-Davidson 1340cc Shovelhead models. Please be aware that the top compression ring needs extra clearance. Also, due to the wider ring pack design, some stock cylinders may require the oil return holes to be relocated to avoid oil consumption issues. These pistons are an excellent way to wake up a late Shovelhead while ensuring modern reliability.
