About This Product
S&S Heavy Duty connecting rods are the gold standard for late Shovel and Evolution Big Twin rebuilds. These rods are drop-forged from 4140 chrome moly steel, making them significantly stronger than stock units. This assembly comes ready to install with the crankpin, nuts, woodruff key, and steel cages with rollers. They fit late 1981 to 1999 Big Twins. Note that the wristpin bushings are reamed to the late 1981 to 1983 Shovelhead size of .791"; for 1984 to 1999 Evo models, they must be reamed to .792". Because they are beefier than stock, flywheel rebalancing is recommended to ensure smooth operation.
