About This Product
MCS sprocket shaft. Fits 1972 to early 1981 Shovelhead Big Twin models. Replaces OEM 24001-72. This is the shaft that carries the primary drive sprocket and keeps everything aligned in the bottom end. A worn shaft will vibrate and chew up the crankcase bearings. Fit this when you are splitting the cases or rebuilding the primary. It is a direct replacement with the correct dimensions for the factory assembly.
Manufacturer part number: 517990.
