Barnett has been manufacturing clutch components in the USA since 1948 and their clutch springs represent the same precision and material quality that defines the rest of the Barnett range. Correct spring rate is the foundation of a properly functioning clutch — too soft and the pack slips under hard acceleration, too stiff and lever effort becomes fatiguing on longer rides. Barnett springs are wound to consistent tolerances that deliver the right clamping load for each application without unwanted variation across the set. The range covers 1968 through to late 1984 Big Twin models, with additional fitments spanning 1941–1984 Big Twin including 45-inch Flatheads, 1952–1970 K and KH and XL Sportster applications, through to 1990–2003 Big Twin and Sportster models.
